The Twin Cities Jewish Chorale Announces 11th Season
The Twin Cities Jewish Chorale (TCJC) will hold a pre-season get-together for current, former and interested singers on September 18, 2019, 7:00 p.m., at the Sabes Jewish Community Center. TCJC welcomes all singers, regardless of their religious affiliation or ability to read music. Rehearsals for the Chorale’s 11th season will begin on Wednesday, October 16, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.at the Sabes JCC in St. Louis Park and will continue on most Wednesdays through spring. Several community-based programs are planned for fall. A major concert on the theme of immigration, in partnership with other community groups, is planned for spring of 2020.
The Twin Cities Jewish Chorale is a volunteer group of singers devoted to learning and performing Jewish choral music. Its mission is to share with the Twin Cities community a full range of Jewish choral music through concerts and short outreach events, so that audiences experience the beauty, variety and affecting nature of this music, and at the same time become more knowledgeable about Jewish music and lyrics and their connection to their lives. TCJC is conducted by artistic director Gary Wolfman and accompanied on piano by Chris Brand. TCJC is a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization and welcomes contributions and donations.
We also look forward to collaborating with other choirs. We are excited to provide outreach and education by bringing to light the often unexplored Jewish musical repertoire and sharing these works with the community at large.
